WHY WE LOVE WHITBY
Located along the Lake Ontario shoreline, Whitby is a growing community with a deep history, just east of Toronto. With a population of 135,000 and counting, Whitby offers two vibrant downtowns, beautiful parks and beaches, 60 kilometres of trails, and year-round events and festivals. It has a charming small-town feel, but with all the amenities of city living, making it an attractive place to live, work and play.
GETTING AROUND
Whitby has easy access to highways, as well as railways, including a GO Station in town that offers frequent service to Toronto. The community also has several stops along the Durham Region Transit and GO bus routes, connecting Whitby to other towns in Durham Region and beyond.

Whitby offers a mix of housing options for its residents, including single-family homes, townhouses and apartments. Thanks to its deep history, it has many charming, older homes; however, the community has also seen newer construction opportunities in recent years to accommodate its growth.

Whitby has it all — from a rich heritage, which the town is committed to preserving through its museums and historical sites, to a vibrant arts and culture scene, beautiful beaches, trails, a conservation area, golf courses and parks (including an off-leash dog park and splash pads). The community also has many great schools, churches, sports centres, theatres, farmer’s markets and more.
